WHO WE ARE

With Hope Foundation annually provides our highly successful educational programs on  Mental Health Awareness and Suicide Prevention to over 10,000 students, parents, teachers, staff, and community members.  Our programs are designed to educate, equip and empower individuals in recognizing the warning signs of suicide and to provide them with resources for critical lifesaving intervention. Additionally, we provide grief support through our Friends With Hope Suicide Bereavement Support Group. We provide individual counseling resources and referrals for individuals dealing with the traumatic loss of a loved one to suicide who are at an increased risk for depression, anxiety, PTSD, and suicide.

AMBER'S STORY

On May 25, 2005, Amber Craig died by suicide. We have lost on this earth a creative, beautiful, strong, loving, and yet, deeply wounded young lady. She was exactly 14 and a half years old. Through her action, a community was devastated.

 â€‹

Amber was an avid soccer player, a good student, and had many friends. She was silly. She was bold. She was encouraging. She was determined. She was… Amber.  We now know, Amber was also profoundly sad and didn’t believe that anyone else had felt the way that she did. She masked her pain in the midst of her talents and accomplishments. She hid her pain from her friends, family, and a community of people who truly loved her.  Amber’s inability to share her pain and struggles has tragically affected those who loved her deeply. This website is dedicated to Amber and people like Amber, who feel alone, wish they could share their darkest thoughts, and are unable to reach out.

We wish we could turn back time and talk to her just once more, give her hope, get her help, and let her know how very loved she was…is. Our mission now is to offer hope, help, and resources to the hurting. You are not alone, your life matters, you are loved.
